Travel Insurance Tips
Here are a few useful tips to consider when looking to purchase Travel Insurance:
1. Buying travel insurance online can mean you pay less than half the premium charged by your tour operator.
2. It is not compulsory to buy travel insurance from your tour operator – if they claim you have to buy their insurance in order to qualify for discounted holidays, you should report them to your local trading standards office.
3. If you travel more than twice a year, it is probably cheaper, and definitely more convenient, to take out annual travel insurance.
4. If you take out travel insurance as a couple, make sure you are covered if you travel independently of each other
5. If you have children, family cover may be better value – but look out for the number of children allowed on the policy.
6. If choosing Worldwide cover, make sure your policy includes the USA and Canada, if required.
7. When claiming, most insurance companies require receipts to be produced for all items lost, damaged or stolen.
8. If you go away on business trips regularly, make sure you are covered as many policies exclude business travel.
Bear these tips in mind when buying your travel insurance and you should find youself adequately covered for what you need.
