Motor Insurers will issue you with the following pieces of information:
The certificate of Insurance.
The Road Traffic Act stipulates that every driver must hold a certificate of insurance. You will also need this document to buy your Vehicle licence (Road Tax Disc).
A Cover Note.
This is usually the first document given to you. It acts as a temporary policy and certificate until your new insurance policy has been set up and the actual certificate has been sent to you.
The Policy Document.
This is the document that tells you everything you are covered for. It also sets out the Terms and Conditions of the policy.
It is essential you read your policy documents carefully, these days there is no small print or insurance jargon to wade through. If there is anything you do not understand then you must get in touch with your Insurer. |
